    Is it just me or are other parents infuriated with shoppers, who quite clearly do not have children with them, parking in the parent and child allocated spaces at Sainsburys. I am a mother of two very small children and find it hard enough having to drag them round the supermarket let alone trying to neogotiate trying to unstrap them from their car seat with a 2 inch gap between me and the next car.

    HELP! I am having to resort to going to an alternative supermarket chain whereby their Parent & Child spaces are 'policed' and fines issued should this privilege be abused. Can Sainsburys not take more of a stand on this. I used to go weekly to Sainsburys at Rayleigh Weir Essex but have in all the time only managed to earmark a Parent & Child space twice! I would like to return to shopping at Sainsburys but I'm afraid ease of parking with small children is more important.

    Hello, I think you've posted this in the wrong section, this is the drinks area! However, I had this same problem in my store (and with a very enthusiastic 3 year old I understand the plight!), and I had a word with the store manager, he was absolutely brilliant and very sympathic, and from then on, every time I go shopping there is a member of staff wandering up and down checking thats cars do have kids and placing tickets (probably just warnings but all the same) on the windscreens of the ones that clearly didn't. It might be worth you speaking to the store manager? I'm sure they will be happy to help.

    Me too. I hate it when people who don't have kids park in the parent and child spaces and who also get abusive when you point out to them when they shouldn't be there. My other bug bear is how come the disabled people can park in the parent and child spaces but we can't park in their spaces. One rule for one and one for the other! Totally unfair. I actually changed the days and time I did my shopping so I was guaranteed a space.

    Some stores car parks are policed. Mine is one of them. People who park in a disabled or mother and child bay receive a parking charge. It is patrolled by Euro Car Parks. Maybe you could suggest to Sainsbury's that Euro Car Parks are bought in for your stores car park to>?

    I am in agreement with you. I do not have children at the moment, but I have a disabled badge, and it makes me so angry when people think that because they are old or in a rush that they have the right to park in disabled parking bays or parent and child parking bays - they are designated areas for a reason!

    I have experienced problems on many occassions where I have had elderly people with disabled parking badges having a go at me for parking in a disabled bay, because I am in my late 20's and I drive a sports car, and my disability is not 'visable' - I have serious back problems, arthritis in my spine and have had several operations - the reason I have a blue badge is because I cannot carry over 5kg and to do this and walk longer distances would cause be a lot of pain - believe me I would rather not have this and park in a space far from the entrance - so yes, I think Sainsburys should do what other supermarkets do, and 'police these parking areas'.

    I too share this frustration with inconsiderate shoppers at my local store in Denton Manchester. I am also a mother of two young children and, particularly, when they were prewalkers as parking further away from the store meant I had to leave them alone in my car whilst I sought out a shopping trolley to transport them to the store! Again then struggling between two closely parked cars. Repeated complaints to the store have gone ignored. Once I had managed to get a parent and child space and was busy unloading my children when a member of staff pulled in beside me, alone, parked in a parent and child spot got out asked me if I needed a hand then proceeded off to work to start her shift! I shop at Sainsburys twice a week as I have a large family of seven and spend a lot of money but I too am considering moving to another store almost built in my area who are known to "police" their car parks and hopefully rid us of these ignorant, rude shoppers!

    SO COME ON SAINSBURYS, SHOW SOME LOYALTY TO YOUR FAMILY SHOPPERS AND START POLICING YOUR CAR PARKS!
