Guidance for applicants under 18 years of age
Please note although we ask for your date of birth, your age plays no part in any selection decision. Prospective candidates need to aware that due to health and safety regulations there may be certain roles and certain activities within a role that a person under 18 years of age cannot be employed for. We regret that due to health and safety requirements applicants under 18 years of age cannot be employed for night shift replenishment positions. All applicants must be of compulsory School Leaving Age, this is deemed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland as “a person is no longer of compulsory school age after the last Friday of June of the school year in which their sixteenth birthday occurs”. In Scotland it is defined as “a person whose sixteenth birthday falls between 1st March and 30th September is of compulsory school age up until 31st May that year. Pupils aged sixteen on or between 1st October and the last day of February are still of compulsory school age until the start of the Christmas holidays in that school year.”
