Sainsbury's - Try something new today

Once you have a feel for the business and an idea of what’s involved in our pre registration scheme, one question remains: Do you have an affinity with Sainsbury’s? If the answer is “yes”, apply here or read on for more information on how to join forces with us.

The selection process enables us to identify the right people to join the business, but it also enables you to decide if Sainsbury's is right for you.

The deadline for applications is July 31st 2008

Sainsbury’s has Six Leadership Behaviours

These reflect the way successful leaders behave in our organisation. You will be asked questions on three of these behaviours during the initial selection stages but will be assessed on all of these as you go through the selection process.

1. Customers Pay Our Wages – Which looks at the importance of having empathy with customers and understanding that without the customers we wouldn’t get paid;
2. Winning – Is about following up decisions made and challenging the unacceptable situations that may occur. It’s about reviewing, rectifying and moving on positively;
3. On My Watch – Is about understanding what needs to be achieved, and making sure it happens. It ensures that ways of working are challenged, judgement is exercised wisely, and accountability is given and adopted with clear understanding,
4. Tough Love – Describes being firm with people whilst still having respect and affection for them. Making sure they are clear of what is expected of them, managing their performance and supporting them to be the best they can be.
5. Commitment is Earned – Is all about interpersonal relationships and the way you communicate in order to motivate your team to go out of their way to deliver excellence.
6. Try Something New Today – Encourages creating opportunities through new approaches. Taking a step back and looking at new ways of working and challenging the norm whilst keeping a realistic view on business requirements
