Presentation is everything
If you’re a novice mixologist, you won’t need all these items, but if you fancy yourself as the next Tom Cruise, here is the kit that you won’t want to be without.
Spirits
Gin, vodka, rum, brandy or cognac, Pimm's, peach schnapps, Scotch whisky, tequila, sparkling wine, and a selection of liqueurs such as crème de menthe, and cherry, banana and almond flavoured liqueurs.
Mixers
Cola, ginger ale, Indian tonic water, club soda, fruit juices such as tomato, orange, peach and cranberry, mineral water, grenadine and angostura bitters.
Decoration
Olives, pickled onions, maraschino cherries, lemons, limes, oranges, nutmeg, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, syrup and salt.
Make sure you have plenty of ice. If you haven't room for lots of ice cube trays in your freezer you can buy 2kg bags of ice from Sainsbury’s.
Equipment Glasses, cocktail shaker, long spoons, swizzle sticks/stirrers, straws, paper umbrellas, bar measure, mixing glass, strainer, tongs, electric blender, ice bucket, ice crusher and ice cube trays, lemon squeezer, chopping board, sharp knife, cocktail sticks, corkscrew and bottle opener.
