Banana Lasagne

Ingredients:
2 Sainsbury’s fair-trade bananas peeled
2 raspberry fromage frais
Raspberry and blueberries
Baby yellow marshmallows
Sprinklers
Maltesers
Method:
1. Cut bananas in half and then cut in to long thin slices
2. Put a slice at the bottom of the bowl
3. Add a layer of fromage frais
4. Add a layer of fruit (use half of the fruit)
5. Add more banana slices and cover with more fruit and fromage frais
6. Top with slices of bananas, mini marshmallows, maltesers and sprinklies
7. Grill until bubbling.
Bananasaurus

Ingredients:
1 fair-trade banana
1 bowl of green jelly (stirred to make it look like a swamp)
Four segments of clementine
2 Raisins
6 – 8 chocolate buttons for the “scales”
Method:
1. Peel the banana and insert the buttons along the back to look like scales
2. Push 2 raisins in one end of the banana for the eyes
3. Place on top of the bowl of jelly
4. Add the segments of the Clementine as legs.
Banana, mango and chocolate filo parcels
Nathan, aged 9 years from Reading
Ingredients
8 sheets of filo pastry
30g of melted butter
2 Sainsbury’s Kids bananas, peeled and sliced
1 small mango cubed
30g of chocolate finely chopped or grated.
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius/ Gas mark 6
2. Grease 2 baking trays
3. Place two sheets of filo pastry on a board, one on top of the other
4. Brush the top side with melted butter
5. Place half of one sliced banana and a quarter of the mango pieces lengthways down the centre of the pastry leaving a small gap from the side
6. Top with a quarter of the chocolate
7. Fold in the 2 long sides of the pastry and then roll up from the narrow side to enclose filling
8. Place the parcel seam side down on the greased baking tray
9. Repeat with other filo pastry to make four parcel
10. Brush the top of each filo pastry with melted butter
11. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until golden brown.
