Terms and Conditions
1. Promotion was open to UK residents, up to 12 years old. All entries had to be accompanied by a signature from a parent or guardian. None of the families of employees of J Sainsbury plc, its subsidiary companies, agents or anyone connected with this promotion where allowed to enter.
2. Completed entry forms had to be returned to Banana Competition, PO Box 54660, London, N16 7YQ by 26 April 2008. All entries had to be submitted with the age of entrant, address, contact telephone number, and a signature from a parent or guardian.
3. Winners were notified by 10/04/08. Only one entry per person was allowed.
4. The age categories were: under 4 years old, 4-8 years old 9-12 years old. All entries had to be countersigned by a parent/guardian confirming that the tip is the child’s own original work. The winner of each of the three age category recieved £100 worth of Sainsbury's vouchers.
5. In addition, one overall winner won a family holiday (2 adults + 2 children) to St Lucia. The prize consisted of return flights to St Lucia, transfers to and accommodation and breakfast at the Landings Hotel for 7 nights and a visit to an island banana plantation. UK airport transfers and meals other than breakfast were not included. The trip must be taken between the dates of 15 April 2008 and 30 July 2008 or 10 January 2009 and 30 March 2009 subject to availability. Prize dates are restricted due to expected adverse weather conditions. The winners family are responsible for insurance and any passport and visa requirements and may book additional child places at their own expense via the promoter’s travel providers.
6. There is no cash alternative to the stated prizes. The promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of greater or equal value. Proof of age may be required before prizes are awarded.
7. The promoter could not accept responsibility for entries which were illegible, incomplete, delayed, damaged or lost in the post/transmission. The decision of the promoter in all matters is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. All winners were informed by the Thursday 17 April 2008.
9. The winners must be prepared to participate in reasonable publicity. Winning tip ideas may be displayed at sainsburys.co.uk and used in marketing materials by the company.
