  • A good portion of starchy food
    Wholemeal bread or whole white bread (which is made with one-third wholemeal flour), wholemeal pittas, wraps, pasta, rice, couscous.
  • Add some protein
    Meat, fish, chicken, egg, cheese, nuts, seeds, beans, peas, lentils.
  • A portion of dairy
    Cheese, smoothies, milk and milkshakes, soya milk or yogurt with added calcium.
  • Some fruit and veg
    Apples, grapes, satsumas, dried fruit, carrot sticks, celery sticks.
  • Don’t forget the drinks
    Avoid high-sugar fizzy drinks and go for unsweetened fruit juice or water.
