Wider organic choice than any other UK supermarket
Sainsbury's organic range
Whether you’re beginning to discover organic foods, or have been enjoying an organic lifestyle, you’d be interested to know what we’ve been doing to allow you to have all of your favourites organic.
Back in 1986 we were the first supermarket to start selling organically grown produce. From then on we’ve continued to be organic pioneers, being the first supermarket to bring you our own-brand products like; sausages, milk, and bananas. More recently we've launched ready meals, cake, popcorn and beer.
A More Organic You – Skin Sense
A more organic you beckons, thanks to our new bath care and skincare range created in Devon. Organic you is a groundbreaking new development that’s set to hit the health and beauty scene by storm. As well as being free from artificial ingredients and chemicals each product has been created with mainly organic ingredients. The range also has the seal of approval from the Soil Association.
Organic TU Clothing
According to the World Health Organisation 20,000 deaths occur in developing countries each year from pesticide poisoning, and many of these are due to cotton production. Not only is Sainsbury’s organic TU range of clothes made from organic clothing, but the entire production process is carried out in an organic way, which is great news for the health of cotton farmers worldwide. The organic TU range, which starts from £10 at selected stores, includes flattering, floaty tops and t-shirts in soft pastel shades. Just for good measure the labels are also made from recycled materials.
Organic Fairtrade
We’ve launched our Sainsbury’s SO organic Fairtrade rum and Sainsbury’s SO organic Fairtrade Santo Domingo dark chocolate, a rich, delicious single-estate chocolate grown in the Dominican Republic from Trinitario cocoa beans. We’re working with suppliers to bring you products that are organic and fairly traded, to ensure that the workers in developing countries benefit too.
Our beliefs are to bring you healthy and safe food through continuing to develop and pioneer farming techniques and product development whilst trading fairly with suppliers and caring for the environment.
