Mey Selections is a brand exclusive to Sainsbury’s and inspired by His Royal Highness The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay.  Mey Selections captures the real flavour of the unspoilt environment of the Scottish North Highlands, whilst ensuring a sustainable and profitable future for local farmers, fishermen and food producers.

The farmers and food producers in the North Highlands are passionate about their work ensuring that all Mey Selections products use traditional methods and authentic ingredients.  By paying a premium to all its producers, Mey Selections ensures a sustainable future as well as promoting the economic development of the Scottish North Highlands.

All Mey Selections products originate from within 100 miles of the Castle of Mey, not far from John O’ Groats, on the very north tip of the Scottish North Highlands and this guarantees that our products and ingredients capture the real flavour of this remote and unspoilt environment.

Mey Selections award winning beef uses only traditional beef breeds, such as Aberdeen Angus, and is given extra flavour by being dry aged on the bone for 14 days until fully mature.  The pastures and heather-covered hills of the Scottish North Highlands give our extra-matured Mey Selections lamb a unique flavour and tenderness.

Mey Selections lamb & beef can be located instore at our counters and in selected Sainsbury's Taste the difference prepared meals such as our Taste the difference Lasagne and Beef Stroganoff.

 

 

Try...
Rump steak
pan-frying a Mey Selections rump steak with olive oil and butter then sprinkle with fresh thyme and crumbled Taste the difference stilton.  Perfect with buttered spinach and nutmeg.

 

 

Leg of lamb
Try...
glazing a Mey Selections leg of lamb with a mixture of thick cut marmalade and honey.  Once cooked remove from the oven, cover with chopped toasted pine nuts and allow to stand for 10 minutes before carving. Perfect served with creamy mashed potatoes.
