On the website we will use this information to show you products, offers and information that we hope you'll find interesting and relevant and to help us to develop the site to make shopping easier in the future. Whatever choice you make regarding the receipt of marketing information here will not affect the decision you made regarding more 'traditional' forms of marketing, for example a decision to receive letters from other parts of Sainsbury's or to take part in targeted offers instore, nor will it affect any decision you have made to receive Nectar communications. 'Cookies'
Sainsbury's use a feature of your Internet Web Browser called a 'Cookie' on their sites. Your rights
In addition to the company's safeguards your personal data is protected in the UK by the Data Protection Act. Sainsbury's may hold other details about you particularly if you hold a Nectar card. This information is not available on line. Security
Sainsbury's treat all the data held with the utmost care and security. Any details you give will remain completely confidential. Payment details are stored on our system in scrambled form and can only be accessed when you order using your unique number and password.
You can register as many payment cards as you like with us. You can register a new card or update one that's expired by either clicking on 'My Account' on the Sainsbury's Online Groceries or by calling us on 0845 301 2020.
If you don't use the service for six months, your payment card details will automatically be deleted from our system.
We will never contact our customers requesting confirmation of account details or passwords and we advise our customers never to enter these details into an email or after following a link from an email.
