What does the scheme involve?
The success of our Making Sainsbury's Great Again plan means our business is now growing to ensure we provide our customers with exactly what they want. The Property team are key to making this happen by delivering new space to enhance the customer offer.
As a Property trainee, your first four months will be spent in store, getting an understanding of the role property plays in the retail sector. Your full involvement in Property projects from day one, together with placements in surveying practice, property development, acquisitions, disposals, asset and property management will give you the skills you need to make a real contribution to out business. To complement your degree you'll also study for your RICS qualification alongside your day-to-day work, leading you to become a fully qualified chartered surveyor.
What are we looking for?
The workload will be heavy and you'll need to be organised to manage your studies and your everyday work duties. As with every Sainsbury's graduate scheme, versatility, motivation and a passion for retail are absolutely essential. We will also require a minimum 2.2 or above in a RICS accredited property or land management related degree, leading you to become a fully qualified chartered surveyor.
What skills will you develop?
Aside from the specific property-related skills and qualifications, you'll learn more general business skills such as networking, communication and people influencing. Your commercial and strategic skills will also be sharpened as the scheme progresses.
