Play as Mario, Peach, Donkey Kong, Wario, or one of the other 20 characters from the Mario world - or even use your own Mii avatar! To guide your characters through the game, simply attach the Wii remote to the steering wheel provided and use it as you would a normal steering wheel, then tackle the fiendishly clever circuits while seeing off stiff competition from your multiplayer opponents by collecting powerups which will help you but hinder them.

There are several modes you can play in. 'Grand Prix' and 'Time Trial' modes are for single players only, but once you've got your friends and family involved - which won't be difficult - you can all get into 'Versus' and 'Battle' modes. Up to four players can play simultaneously, with the corresponding number of Wii remotes. (NB: The steering wheel accessory is not essential for playing this game! You can still enjoy Mario Kart with just the standard Wii remote.)

And if you have Wii Wi-Fi broadband, you can also race with up to 11 people online, or 10 people online with two of you playing locally.
