You bite into the bar, a smile involuntarily spreading across your face. The wrapper crinkles in your hand as you finish off the final few crumbs. You look down at the empty packaging, slightly disappointed that it’s over. But it’s okay. It happened. A cereal bar that tasted like a treat.
You head out into the world, excited about what the day might bring. You feel the sun on your face, reminding you of two things. The slowly melting chocolate still sitting on your lip and the fact that you need to apply some sun cream. At lunchtime you have a nice, packed lunch of flavoured crackers and tomatoes. The acidity of the tomatoes spurs you on to completing that big task of the day and you return home with a spring in your step.
You pack your lunch bag for the following day with some nibbles, sticks, and twists. This includes some breadsticks, partially for pretending to be a vampire with really long teeth. You then debate having another treat cereal bar but decide to save it for tomorrow.
So, you walk over to the treat cabinet and run your eyes over the confectionery shelf. Your fingers touch some sweets, and you pop a couple into your mouth. Then you turn around and smile at the day you just had. It feels almost like the day smiles back.
