You will need

  • 1 x 270g loaf Taste the Difference home-bake ciabatta, halved horizontally
  • 375g beef sirloin steak
  • 2 teaspoons horseradish sauce
  • 2 teaspoons English mustard
  • 1½ tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ½ x 70g pack wild rocket leaves

Step by step guide to making The ultimate mini steak sandwich

  1. Heat the grill to high. Toast the ciabatta halves for 2 minutes on each side, until light golden. Set aside.
  2. Heat a griddle pan (or barbecue) to medium-high then cook the sirloin for 2-3 minutes each side, or until done to your liking. Remove from the pan and let rest for 10 minutes before finely slicing.
  3. Meanwhile, mix together the horseradish, mustard and mayonnaise.
  4. Spread the bottom half of the ciabatta with most of the horseradish mixture.
  5. Top with a few rocket leaves and the steak slices. Spoon over the remaining horseradish mixture and top with the other ciabatta half.
  6. Secure with cocktail sticks and cut into 8 mini sandwiches.
