Recipe Information
Step by step guide to making Christmas tree biscuits
- Mix the unsalted butter with the caster sugar and ground cinnamon until creamy. Add the egg and flour, then mix until a dough forms. Gather into a ball, wrap in clingfilm and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C, fan 180°C, gas mark 6. Lightly grease 3 baking trays.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to ½ cm thick, then cut into 3 different sizes of stars using cutters, or triangles using a knife if you don’t have cutters.
- Place on separate baking trays, according to size. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–14 minutes, then leave to cool.
- Stack into trees using 3 large, 2 medium and 2 small stars or triangles, using an icing pen to stick them together.
- Dust with icing sugar and decorate with sugar baubles, sticking them on with the icing pen.
You can buy star biscuit cutters from our Sainsbury's baking range.
