Bread and butter pudding

You will need
- 5 slices of white bread
- Butter for spreading
- 70g raisins
- a pinch of cinnamon
- 300ml semi-skimmed milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Step by step guide to making Bread and butter pudding
- Preheat the oven to 180°C, fan 160°C, gas mark 4.
- Butter a 500ml shallow, heatproof pie dish. Remove the crusts from the bread, spread each slice with butter then cut into 4 triangles.
- Arrange a layer of bread, buttered-side up, in the bottom of the dish, sprinkle over half of the raisins and a pinch of cinnamon, and cover with the remaining bread.
- Whisk the milk with the eggs and brown sugar. Pour the mixture over the bread, sprinkle over the remaining raisins and bake for 25 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
