You will need

  • 500g pack Sainsbury's spirali pasta
  • 500g Sainsbury's frozen whole green beans
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 350g lean steak mince
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • 1 x 400g carton basics chopped tomatoes
  • 1 x 440g jar tomato pasta sauce
  • 2 slices basics wholemeal bread, torn into small pieces
  • 40g grated hard cheese

Step by step guide to making Cheesy bolognese bake

  1. Cook the pasta following pack instructions, adding the beans for the last 4 minutes, then drain.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium–high heat and cook the mince for 10 minutes, until browned and no pink colour remains. Add the garlic, mixed herbs, tomatoes and pasta sauce, and cook for a further 3 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill. Stir the pasta and beans into the beef mixture. Tip into an ovenproof dish, top with the bread pieces and scatter over the cheese.
  4. Grill until the cheese has melted and the top is golden. Serve hot.
