Which is the right brew for you?

All tea is produced from a plant called Camellia sinensis but it’s the different processes from picking to drying that determine its type. Although there are thousands of different varieties of teas available, which is the right brew for you?

Tea inspired tips

Add flavour to pasta & grains

Once you’ve brewed your cup of tea, you can re-use the bag to flavour other foods.

  1. Hang the pre-brewed bags into a pot of water while it comes to a boil to flavour the water.
  2. Remove the used tea bags and then add your pasta, rice, or other grains.

Try jasmine or chamomile tea with rice, green tea with pasta, Chai or cinnamon spice tea with oatmeal.

Tenderise tough meat

Even the toughest cuts of meat will melt in your mouth after you marinate them in regular black tea.

  1. Place 4 tablespoons black tea leaves in a pot of warm (not boiling) water and steep for 5 minutes. Strain to remove the leaves and stir in ½ cup brown sugar until it dissolves. Set aside.
  2. Season up to 1.5 kg meat with salt, pepper, onion, and garlic powder, and place it in a Dutch oven.
  3. Pour the liquid over the seasoned meat and cook in a preheated 325°F (165°C) oven until the meat is fork tender, after about 90 minutes.
