Making Coconut Cream / Coconut Milk from KTC Pure Creamed Coconut 1. Coconut Cream Break 200g packet of KTC Pure Creamed Coconut into a bowl, add 450ml warm water. Stir until dissolved. Strain through muslin or a fine sieve before use. 2. Coconut Milk For coconut milk stir in an extra 150ml water. Strain through muslin or a fine sieve before use.

So much better than coconut milk!One of these is worth about 3 cans of coconut milk. I'll use 1/3 of it in a curry to add some flavour and creaminess. If I was specifically trying to make a coconut curry, I'd probably use 1/2. The only thing I wish it didn't have is the sulphur dioxide, like the Tropical Sun brand. But it's hands down the best one for delivery in my area.

Two words Sulphur Dioxide!I've been using this cream coconut for decades without realising that they put sulphur dioxide in it. Yes sulphur dioxide - it even sounds harmful! I won't be buying this anymore until they stop using it. Disgusted they put these things in our food.

Poorer Quality - Check label has sulphites - bad!If on a tight budget it will work. But two items, (1) If you want it to taste like sweet coconut go for the Blue Dragon or an organic one, this is really poor on taste and lacking in sweetness (2) contains sulphites which are preservatives which may not be good for your health. Additives like this are found in many cheaper products, why, when the Blue Dragon brand creamed coconut and Organic ones don't have them. I've stopped buying this now as I like good taste and safeguard my health

You have to cut off the oil top!For newbies to creamed coconut / coconut block like me...you have to take the whole block out the box and then you will see a clear line at the top where the top inch or so is white and that is pure coconut oil that has separated during processing. The rest is a creamy peachy colour and that is the dedicated flesh which you use to make milk or add to curry etc. I had never used before so I just took the top off without taking out the block and melted it in my cup and all it was was pure coconut oil. I thought what is this? This Isn't milk or coconut it's just oil! Why have all these people given good reviews?! Then I saw by chance a YouTube video on making your own coconut milk using this very block and the man said "just cut off the oil top and disregard or keep in a container for cooking and use the rest with warm water to make your milk or add to recipes" I was like ohhhh! I took it out and sure enough then I could see and it made great milk, used in coffee (how be it leaving desiccated coconut at the bottom but that didnt bother me). I have to say it also tastes so good straight from the block, sweet desiccated coconut, I could honestly chomp on the block and eat it as a candy bar (and I ate a good portion doing that!)
It does leave the coffee darker than other milks like soy or oat and it separates and leaves a bit of oil due to the fat content but it tastes very coconutyy and nice. It's very decadent because of the fat content and I wouldn't be able to drink as many coffees as I do with soy milk. Will purchase again.

I wouldn't buy it again coconut creamThe KTC coconut cream tastes how the KTC coconut milk should taste. It's not thick, sweet, and coconutty like I'd expect from coconut cream. There's better brands out there, and this can be avoided.

great value versatile productThis makes lots of creamy liquid that can be used variously, and is probably the best value in all the range of coconut products, in that at 80p a pop it has become a thrift staple in a pensioners budget, the perfect substitute for dairy milk in the vegan diet.
A must-have in curry and satay dishes and home made cakes, and by chopping a chunk and liquidising in warm water can be used with any breakfast cereal for instance, or with frozen fruit whizzed up in a smoothie it works very well.
Good old KTC. A great company.
All their stuff is quality.
