Our silverskin onions are superbly versatile, while bringing you their inimitably sharp, sweet and tangy taste. Each pickled onion is picked at the peak of the season before being preserved in sweetened vinegar with dashes of ginger and cinnamon. You can use our silverskin onions in vinegar to add extra depth to a stew or casserole. Or serve them with cold cuts, a cheeseboard or a salad. We know our sweet silverskin onions are irresistible, so we won’t object if you enjoy them as a snack straight from the jar!
For more than 150 years, Baxters has brought delicious food from our family’s kitchen to yours.
Our onions now grace tables across the world – quite a journey from 1868, when George and Margaret Baxter began selling jams and jellies made from local fruit at their little shop in Scotland.
What has not changed is our devotion to George’s vow to “be different and be better”. We still use fresh local produce – and every recipe is signed off by his great-granddaughter Audrey, the fourth generation of Baxters to lead the company.
