Cockburn's was founded in 1815 in Oporto by Robert Cockburn, a Scottish wine merchant from a distinguished family in Edinburgh. Today, Cockburn's is the number 1 Port brand in the UK.
A refreshing blend of young wines from high altitude vineyards, Cockburn’s Porto Branco is matured in stainless steel for up to 18 months before being bottled. Long been served as an aperitif at get-togethers in the Douro, overseas visitors to the Cockburn’s Lodge have begun taking and sharing the secret back home.
Cockburn’s Porto Branco is best served chilled either neat or over ice. Great for mixing, it’s perfect as part of a crisp, cool Port & Tonic. Does not need to be decanted. Consume within four to six weeks of opening.
The P&T - Port & Tonic - Fill a tall glass with ice and add 50ml of Cockburn’s White. Top up with tonic water, squeeze in a wedge of lime, and garnish with a sprig of mint.

History: Cockburn's, founded in 1815 by two Scottish brothers Robert and John Cockburn, is one of the greatest and most beloved names in Port. With a long history of questioning the 'rules', Cockburn's was a pioneer in producing Port from the remote Douro Superior and was instrumental in recovering the iconic Port grape variety Touriga Nacional from almost certain extinction. The Cockburn’s style reflects the special hot and dry climatic conditions of this Douro Sub-region giving a unique style and quality to all Cockburn's Ports.
Regional information: Our Fine White has long been served as an aperitif at daytime (and evening) get togethers in the Douro. But now overseas visitors to our Lodge are spreading the word when they get back home. The white port trend is here to stay.
Vinification: A refreshing blend of young wines from high altitude vineyards, Cockburn’s Porto Branco is matured in stainless steel for up to 18 months before being bottled
