Another item ruinedI bought these mint crisps on 23rd December 2023 and wished to review them but they had been removed from the website so was unable at the time. I opened them after our christmas dinner only to find that the internal packaging had been changed so that I assume there are fewer in the package. My husband and I only ate about a dozen altogether and then threw them away (and believe me, we never throw chocolate away). The texture of the chocolate was soapy and waxy and there were barely any mint crisp pieces in them, so only had a vague minty taste. I am very upset to see that they appear to have gone the way of McVities Digestives and PG Tips i.e. adulterating the recipe so much that they are now disgusting, thereby forcing me to buy alternatives in future. To add insult to injury, they are now £4 a packet (more expensive than our local posh supermarket)!

CAUTION !These mint crisps can be nice and very, very addictive, but... caution.
I just bought a packet and i have actually thrown them in the bin!
They had an unpleasant aftertaste - an unpleasant taste you sometimes get with canned drinks and foods - i don't know but i think it's something to do with the cleaning processes before a production run in the factory.
If you're thinking of giving some as a present this year, buy a packet for yourself first and try them out - just to make sure your local store is stocking fresh product.

Delicious little treatI'm not sure what ingredients list you're looking at Crystal23 but I can clearly see mint in the ingredients below. Plus 55% cocoa solid. And cocoa butter for fat instead of that hideous palm oil. And yes, lots of sugar and syrup..... what else do you buy them for? My nan loved them, my mum loved them and so do I. Delicious!

Sweet treatsSweet as in sugar, treats as in now-and-then.

I always enjoy Crystal23's comments, but I just have to say that mint is not listed probably for the same reason the naturally ocurring sugar, lactose, is not listed in butter ingredients, because there is so little of it - the tiniest drop of peppermint oil goes a very long way.

The ingredients also don't include palm fat.

As for the sugar - that's what sweet treats are all about, or...?
