Preparation and Safety

How to use for the first time: Turn feeder upside down, unscrew the base and remove the seal tab. Replace the feeding base and turn feeder back over. Pull out the perches and tear off the sleeve so birds can see the seed. How to refill: Once empty, unscrew and remove the lid and pour seed into the top. Ensure lid is securely in place. Hygiene - Always ensure garden birds have plenty of fresh water for drinking and bathing. - Clean feeding and drinking areas regularly with a mild disinfectant. - Keep food fresh and dry, removing any wet food to prevent the spread of bacteria and diseases.

Great feedersThese Peckish feeders are great because both the top and bottom unscrew which makes them easier to clean which is very important as small birds are getting forms of bird flu as well as the problem of the crows and magpies who kill them.

sturdyIt's sturdy but that means the jackdaws and starlings have no trouble clinging on to the edges and trying to peck at the food. After about half a dozen times doing that (on the same day that i first put it up) pretty much all of the contents were on the ground. some doves and dunnocks pecked at this, but most of it was left as the mix is almost completely wheat and oats which feral pigeons will eat but the robins, bluetits and coaltits didn't touch it. i ended up sweeping up the mess and binning it so as not to attract rats. then i filled the feeder with my usual mixed seed

Seed and nut mix feederGood product it’s cheap and the feeder can be reused. The handle pops out to go over branched so easy to attach. But there are no instructions to bring out the perches. It was easy when I worked it out with the aid of a knife though
