Cooking instructions: Oven
Oven cooked from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Before cooking: Preheat oven. Remove all packaging. Decant turkey joint with cooking juices into an ovenable dish with the bacon side up. Place a piece of baking parchment paper over the meat (to prevent bacon from sticking) and loosely cover with foil. Place dish in the centre of the oven and cook for 60 minutes. During cooking: Remove from the oven and discard the baking parchment paper and foil. Baste the meat with cooking juices. Drain ¾ of the cooking juices then return to the oven uncovered for a final 15 minutes. After cooking: Remove from the oven and rest for 10 minutes before serving. To carve place the turkey onto a carving board and slice to serve. Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
