Sound Seafood (Approx. 250g) British Red Mullet Fillets

Red Mullet – Vibrant, Delicate, and Utterly Indulgent
• 2 butterfly fillets (skin on & ready to cook)
• Typically 240gm (Two servings)
• Caught by fishermen in Devon and Cornwall. Prepared by our fishmongers and ready to cook
• Best pan-fried or grilled with bold, Mediterranean flavours

With its vivid pink skin and sweet, shellfish-like flavour, red mullet is a true delicacy. The flesh is tender and refined, with a soft, succulent texture that holds up beautifully to pan-searing or grilling. Naturally rich and full-flavoured, it’s a favourite among chefs for its ability to pair with bold ingredients like garlic, chilli, and fresh herbs.

Our red mullet is caught by boats fishing along the Devon and Cornwall coastline, then carefully prepared by our skilled fishmongers and vacuum packed to preserve its quality. Supplied as butterfly fillets with the skin on, they’re ready to cook and perfect for creating restaurant-quality dishes at home.

We advise customers that our Red Mullet is delivered “filleted” rather than “pin-boned”. Red mullet are relatively small and delicate, so removing every pin bone can damage the flesh.
