Whole Plaice - Classic, Flavourful, and Ready to Cook
- Whole plaice (head off, trimmed, and ready to cook)
- Typically 375gm (one generous portion or two medium portions)
- Caught in Devon and Cornwall waters and expertly prepared by our fishmongers
- Best pan-fried, grilled, or baked on the bone for maximum flavour
Plaice is one of the most iconic flatfish in British waters — easily recognised by the vibrant orange spots across its skin and celebrated for its soft texture and mild, sweet flavour. It's a much-loved classic, offering a more accessible price point without compromising on quality or character.
Each fish is carefully selected and prepared by our fishmongers — head off, trimmed, and ready to cook. At around 375g, it's ideal as a generous main course for one but could easily be shared as a dinner for two!
Cooked on the bone, plaice delivers its best texture and flavour. Simply pan-fry with a knob of butter, grill with lemon and capers, or roast gently with seasonal vegetables and herbs.
An everyday favourite — iconic, great-value, and always satisfying.
