History: Veuve Clicquot's Yellow Label Brut is the maison's signature champagne and the one against which all others are judged - balancing strength, aromatic intensity and freshness. Created for a British market that desired “dry” wines, Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label was trademarked in 1877 and has been used to toast events big and small ever since.

Regional information: This signature champagne gains its structure from the predominant presence of pinot noir (50-55%), roundness from meunier (15-20%) and elegance from chardonnay (28-33%).

Vinification: The grapes are sourced from 50 to 60 crus, and the blend comprises 25-45% reserve wines that have been aged up to 15 years.

Not my favouriteI've known this champagne practically my entire life and it's never been a favourite. It's just under a third Chardonnay, which is too much for me. I much prefer a Blanc de Noirs, i.e. without any white-skinned grapes, and particularly without Chardonnay which I am not a friend of. Having said all this, this champagne is obviously very well made. Hence still giving it 3 stars.

Painful Ordering..Got there in the endMixed feelings here. 25% off when you buy 6 bottles is a great offer. Sainsburys website shows 75cl boxed bottle at £47.50 and without box at £50. So I used click and collect requesting 6 boxed bottles. The next day I’m emailed to say they only had unboxed bottles, making the order £15 more expensive. Upon collection, the bottles were indeed all boxed.
Getting the refund wasn’t automatic and required several calls. The click and collect experience was painful as well. At least I have 6 bottles of Veuve to consol myself with!

Lovely jubbleyIf you don’t know veuve clicquot but like youngish easily drinkable shampoo try a bottle it’s remarkably consistent very nice champagne.
It’s not the cheapest but it’s one of the best
