I love this sauce!I love this sauce as it's similar to one I've done from scratch numerous times in the past!
I add a few more "bits" - such as some additional dried apricots (roughly chopped), a good amount of chopped coriander leaf (the frozen variety if so handy, but dried is OK too, especially if slow cooking!) and sometimes, some chopped spinach (frozen, generally, it's so easy to use - just defrost ahead of popping in the casserole / slow cooker) and a splash of orange juice. I also always have baharat, Ras El Hanout, Sumac and Za'Atar herbs/spices at home which work well with this sauce.
I tend to use lamb with this sauce, mostly as the tagine I used to cook from scratch was with lamb, but chicken or turkey works well too, as does veg such as butternut squash / pumpkin (why can we not get more varieties of squash throughout the year in the UK, there's loads and they are so versatile!)
I don't understand why some reviews expressed disappointment with the lack of heat - not every dish with spices has to be hot (like a vindaloo) and the two main ingredients - apricot and coriander are not "hot" flavours!
To be quite honest, I don't think I've ever used a shop-bought sauce or mix straight from the jar / packet - I just use it as a base to build from!
I get this sauce frequently (and the meatball tagine sauce from the same brand) as they are consistently good.

Better than expected.I used this sauce with diced chicken breast, few tomatoes, bit of spring onion & red pepper, pasta, and pleasantly surprised at how colourful and 'flavoury' the sauce was. No spice/heat to get my husband complaining. Have just re-ordered two jars. Good choice!

Much better than many sauces from jarsI don't normally cook with sauces from jars but this one was really nice. I used it with lamb an onion, and because I found it a little sweet I added a lamb stock pot and some salt. Was perfect after that and great with couscous.

Nice taste will buy againThis is a sauce that i wouldn't have bought off it wasnt on poromotion. However as it was i looked out for it and was not on a shelf near my usual but I am so glad I bought it. Very nice taste, all liked it shoo would buy again. Jar right size for what we need.
