History: Established in Greve in Chianti in 1967 by the Sacchet and Zaccheo families. Carpineto farms 500 hectares of sustainably cultivated land across five carbon-neutral estates located in the appellations of Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Maremma, and Alto Valdarno. Carpineto is certified by VIVA for soil, air, and water, as well as ISO 14001, IFS, and UNI/PDR125 for gender equality. All wines are vegetarian.
Regional information: Carpineto is a Tuscan winery with estates across several of the region's most important wine areas. Founded in Chianti Classico, it produces wines from vineyards in Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and Brunello di Montalcino. Its estates also extend to Alto Valdarno and Maremma. This geographical diversity allows Carpineto to express different Tuscan terroirs, soils, elevations, and microclimates, particularly through its Sangiovese-based wines.
Vinification: Each grape variety is vinified separately to respect its unique ripening timeline. Blended near the end of fermentation, the wine is then transferred to small oak casks to slowly complete both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation.
