SorryI have loved Imperial Leather soap for decades, but now instead of raising the price for profit the company has lowered the quality. I is a messy soft soap with no real perfume, so sorry, I will not be buying it again if I can help it. Bar soap is hard to find, and I don't want to buy plastic containers of liquid soap - yuk.

Lovely smell and creamyI always buy this soap instead of a creamy mild one from another well-known brand. It has a mild and nice scent. It is creamy. It lathers very well. It does not crack or turn into gravel in my house, which is a house that is very well insulated and therefore with no dampness; on the contrary, with dry atmosphere.

IngredientsThe product contains Limonene which can cause allergic contact dermatitis. Since this has been included as an ingredient in the soap I can no longer use it as it appears to make my skin itch.

A waste of moneyBought this soap as I wanted small bars to fit in a soap dish in my utility room. Thought with the name it would be a good soap. What has happened. I have tried two bars both after a few uses looked as if they had been dropped in gravel. They were cracked and brown as well as a very rough texture and certainly not useable. The other two bars have been put in the bin. One star is too good.

cracked and flakyA horrid experience when used for hand washing, (not bathing). They cracked on day two and became split and grubby by day three. I threw the first two away and am about to do the same with the second pair. A big disappointment having believed the brand to be rather special.

Irritates my skinGentle care? I would assume a soap called Gentle Care wouldn't irritate my skin. I was wrong! Every time I use this it irritates my skin and it's quite sore and painful. I don't have this problem with other soap so it went straight in the bin. I tend to have this problem with other Imperial Leather products...do they actually test their products on people with sensitive skin?!

Awful, awful, awfulPlease bring back the original version. I am allergic to perfume and just cannot use this bar.

I have to go elsewhere to buy the original version which is a real nuisance.

Game of two halvesWe got this, hoping that it was simply a milder version of the classic Imperial Leather bar.

Well, it's the same shape and you get that handy little rectangle of foil on which to rest it and, yes, it's mild. However, we really couldn't get used to the perfume.

Superficially, it's fragrant enough but using it a few times, we found it to smell chemically contrived. It really didn't work for us. That said, others clearly do like it, so chaqu'un(e) a son gout, I suppose.

AwfulWhat on earth has happened to Imperial Leather?? I was never very impressed with the cream coloured bar because I didn't like the scent, but my husband liked it. But this white bar, which actually smells quite pleasant, goes to mush in the soap dish, is totally squidgy in use and then disintegrates and dries rock hard all over the basin and tiles. I definitely wont be buying this again.
