History: Vasse Felix is Margaret River's founding wine estate and was established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity. All wines are estate-grown in Vasse Felix's four Margaret River vineyards then estate-made and bottled within its state-of-the-art wine making facility.
Regional information: With the unique combination of its Mediterranean climate, maritime influence and ancient soils, Margaret River has fast become one of the world's most desirable destinations for producing Chardonnay. The vineyard sites have been selected for their unique topography, micro-climates and natural irrigation. The best suited grape varieties have been matched to each vineyard, and specific rows and blocks have been planted to correspond with topography and soil type.
Vinification: All parcels were treated in respect of the unique qualities arising from their vineyard sites. Natural fermentation, fine French oak and battonage programs were tailored to each individual batch. Following eight months maturation in oak the parcels were combined to create a unique varietal Chardonnay from the Margaret River.
