Our crinkled beetroot delivers tangy taste and crunchy texture with all the care and commitment to quality you expect from Baxters. Each beet for every jar of beetroot is selected, not once but twice. First at the farm and then, by hand, when it reaches us. And we choose only the best. Steamed gently in small batches, they are then preserved using a special malt vinegar recipe made from British barley. The extra crunch that comes with crinkles makes our pickled beetroot perfect for a beetroot salad, in a deli sandwich or as part of a ploughman’s lunch.
For more than 150 years, Baxters has brought delicious food from our family’s kitchen to yours.
Our beetroot now graces tables across the world – quite a journey from 1868, when George and Margaret Baxter began selling jams and jellies made from local fruit at their little shop in Scotland.
What has not changed is our devotion to George’s vow to “be different and be better”. We still use fresh local produce – and every recipe is signed off by his great-granddaughter Audrey, the fourth generation of Baxters to lead the company.
