Our sliced beetroot is brought to you with all the dedication to quality you expect from Baxters. Each beet is selected, not once but twice. First at the farm and then, by hand, when it reaches us. And we choose only the best for your jar of beetroot. Steamed gently in small batches, our beetroot is then preserved using a traditional malt vinegar recipe made from British barley. Enjoy our delicious pickled beetroot in a salad, an exotic deli sandwich or as part of a ploughman’s lunch.
For more than 150 years, Baxters has brought delicious food from our family’s kitchen to yours.
Our beetroot now graces tables across the world – quite a journey from 1868, when George and Margaret Baxter began selling jams and jellies made from local fruit at their little shop in Scotland.
What has not changed is our devotion to George’s vow to “be different and be better”. We still use fresh local produce – and every recipe is signed off by his great-granddaughter Audrey, the fourth generation of Baxters to lead the company.
