Full bodied and very smoothIf you are choosing between this wine and Reserve de Bonpas, go for this every time. I moved over to this wine when it was reduced, then moved back when the price went up, but that was big mistake. Les Dauphins, at least the 2023 vintage at 14pc abv, is rich and full bodied, because alcohol percentage isn't juts about the effect it has, it also improves the body. Watch out though, I did spot and put back a bottle rated at 13.5%, which is lower than normal for the style and region. Every bottle can be different!

Pleasant to drinkThe wine is pleasant to drink and has a good balance of Grenache and Syrah, at 80% and 20%, respectively. The weather is not barbecue-friendly at the moment, so we enjoyed the wine with homemade pasta.

Did not enjoyMuch like the last reviewer, 22 vintage, bought on the back of the good reviews. First red in a while where I’ve instantly not enjoyed it. Quite acidic astringent taste. I’m no wine expert but I’ve had much nicer wines for less money

Not even close to a being a good Côtes du Rhone2022 vintage. The enthusiastic reviews of this wine are an utter mystery. I bought 10 bottles on the strength of them and the 25% offer (I should know better by now than to unreservedly trust reviews) of which 9 will be going back. I opened the first to share with a friend and as we tasted it we looked each other and said in unison the name of a well-known blackcurrant cordial. It's a thin, slightly astringent sugary brew that improves marginally over the course of an hour as the tannins soften, but remains overall an unappealing bodyless mouthful that is miles away from a decent robust and concentrated CDR.

MoreishFull-bodied, full of flavour and it lingers. Very moreish. It is the best I have tasted for this price range. In fact, It even surpasses some of the red wines priced over £12 in my opinions. Highly recommend.
