History: The Balfour-Lynn family planted their first vineyards in 2002 on the beautiful Hush Heath Estate, and five years later, Balfour Brut Rosé 2004 became the first English wine to win a gold medal and the Trophy at the International Wine Challenge. The family built a state-of-the-art, dedicated winery and visitor tasting room directly on the Hush Heath Estate to handle all parts of production from press to bottle.
Regional information: Kent sits in the southeast corner of England, benefiting from one of the warmest, driest, and sunniest microclimates in Britain. Long daylight hours allow grapes to achieve optimal ripeness while keeping the crisp, fresh acidity required for traditional method sparkling winemaking
Vinification: English sparkling wine made using the same traditional method as Champagne. Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle, followed by lees ageing for extended lees ageing.
