Cooking instructions: Oven
Oven cook from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Before cooking: Preheat oven to 190°C/Fan 170°C/Gas 5. Remove all packaging. Place flour in a bowl and season lightly with salt and pepper. Toss the diced beef in the flour to coat, shake off to remove any excess. Heat 5ml of oil in a heavy bottom hob and oven resistant casserole dish at a moderate heat. Once oil is hot add the beef and seal on all sides for 4 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and rest for 2-3 minutes. Add a 300g mix of diced vegetables to the pan including carrot, onion and celery and lightly fry for 2 minutes on a high heat. During cooking: Add the beef and any juices to the pan and stir together for 1 minute on high heat. Add 220ml of water and 850ml of by Sainsbury's fresh beef stock and bring to a simmer. Cover with the lid or foil and place in the oven. Cook for 3 hours. After cooking: Check food is piping hot and no pink colour remains. Remove from stock to serve. All cooking appliances vary. Warnings:
This product is not suitable for rare cooking. Do not undercook raw meat. Keep raw meat separate from cooked foods. Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw meat and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly between use.
Wash hands after handling raw meat. Cook thoroughly until piping hot throughout, no pink colour remains and the juices run clear.
If not fully cooked in accordance with the instructions harmful bacteria may remain.
