This perfectly-balanced Crémant is fresh and concentrated with complex notes of candied citrus and soft, creamy bubbles.

This wine is produced by multi-award-winning winery Domaines Paul Mas. Their Languedoc estate lies close to Saint-Hilaire Abbey, where the sparkling wine method was first discovered back in 1531. Crémant is made using this same traditional method, and the time spent ageing in bottle gives it complex creamy yet fresh and fruity characteristics.

The fruity notes and fine bubbles make this a perfect aperitif but it is also great with seafood.

A superb Crémant that easily rivals more expensiveSainsbury’s Taste the Difference Crémant de Limoux is a real standout. It has that classic French sparkle—fine bubbles, fresh citrus and apple notes, and a gentle brioche richness that feels far more premium than the price suggests. It’s crisp without being sharp, celebratory without being heavy, and consistently well‑made.
I’ve long considered Tesco’s Limoux one of the best if not the best supermarket sparkling wines, and this Sainsbury’s version absolutely holds its own. It has the same elegance and balance, but with a slightly softer, more rounded finish that makes it incredibly easy to enjoy on its own or with food.
A brilliant bottle for the money and one I’ll happily keep on my regular list. It proves you don’t need Champagne to pour something genuinely impressive.
