To bake.
Before cooking: Wash before use. Preheat oven. Prick potatoes with a fork and place directly onto the oven shelf.
During cooking: Turn half way through cooking. Bake until skin is golden and potato is soft in the middle.
After cooking: Check food is piping hot. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
Microwave.
Before cooking: Wash the potato, dry and prick several times with a fork. Wrap loosely with kitchen paper. Place on a non-metallic plate. Timings suggested are for a single potato.
During cooking: Turn half way through cooking.
After cooking: Check potato is piping hot and soft in the middle. Allow to stand for 2 minutes.
