To cook on the hob.
Before cooking: Peel and cut sweet potatoes into evenly sized chunks. Boil water.
During cooking: Add sweet potatoes carefully. Return to the boil.
After cooking: Drain. Check food is piping hot, then mash and serve.

To cook on the hob

Follow instructions to cook on the hob.
Put back on to warm hob for 1 minute to dry. Add warm milk, butter if liked and seasoning. Mash until smooth and creamy.
To roast.
Before cooking: Preheat oven. Cut sweet potatoes into evenly sized wedges or chips. Place sweet potatoes on a roasting tray. Place tray on the middle shelf of the oven.
During cooking: Turn halfway through cooking. Cook until they are tender and beginning to brown.
After cooking: Check food is piping hot.
