Bleargh!Have you ever wanted to see what chewing a pencil eraser is like, but never lacked the brain cells to try at primary school? Well, with all your vegany best intentions you too can experience the complete and utter disappointment that is eating "This Isn't Chicken".

At least they get points for honesty. It definitely isn't chicken.

If one can get past the smell...Does smell pretty bad right out of the bag. Maybe that's why they suggest cooking from frozen as the low temp hides the "aroma" [cough]. I persevered, and it's *passable* as a substance to put into my meal where meat might used to have been, but it's a stretch to use the word "chicken" in its description. With another iterations of development & refinement it might be OK, but it's not there yet.

Absolutely deliciousBought this for ex meat eaters-turned vegetarian to make a chicken tikka curry, and used the remainder for a chicken chow mein. My guests were in awe as they had never eaten a substitute that truly resembled chicken. Being accustomed to the usual Q version, they were not only given better alternative food, but food for thought….they will now be stocking up on this too. Having tasted both dishes myself (although I am a meat eater), I have to say I preferred this to the meat version myself. It actually smells like chicken and the texture is meaty and flavoursome when cooked as per your preference. I do agree with a review about the salt however. There is probably no need to add salt until you have tasted your cooked meal in my opinion. Generally speaking, I’m so impressed that not only am I stocking up for my foreseeable guests whilst on offer, but I will be cooking this for my family as a meat free alternative where protein is required. It’s incredibly versatile I would imagine as holds its texture without mushing and takes on seasoning, great colour and sauces incredibly well once lightly fried in a bit of oil. I also never write reviews, but felt this product deserves to shine. On a final note, if you have never eaten chicken, this may not be for you. I find it’s only acceptable for those who are not offended by meat alternatives.

I'm loving this product.So I was looking for a different brand from the big name Q****. I'm not a big lover of the egg in it.
So on a trip to Sainsburys I spotted the This isn't Chicken pieces.
Well, what can I say apart from wow!
I've had a chicken teriyaki and also cooked them in a casserole and the This isn't Chicken did not disappoint.
They are well worth stocking up when the Nectar offer is on... Which is what I did.

Deceptively goodExpected a similar product to Quorn but these were better. Cooked in a Thai green curry. Closer in texture to chicken thighs than breast but succulent and flavoursome. 5* considering it's not meat.
