Our gourmet sausages are influenced by chef and gourmet sausage maker Martin Heap whose sausage recipes were launched into Sainsbury's back in 1996.
We use 88% coarsely chopped British outdoor bred pork shoulders and bellies then fill into natural casings to give extra succulence and a coarse, meaty texture.
This Old English recipe uses our signature seasoning with black pepper and nutmeg and a pinch of sage. Sausages as they used to be... that's why you can taste the difference

Cooking instructions: Grill
To grill from chilled. Before cooking: Preheat grill. Remove all packaging and place on grill pan. During cooking: Turn occasionally. After cooking: Check food is piping hot throughout and the juices run clear. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only. To cook on grill High heat 10 mins
Cooking instructions: Shallow Fry
Pan fry from chilled but can also be grilled. Before cooking: Heat 15ml tablespoon of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Once oil is hot add chipolatas. During cooking: Pan fry on a high heat for 4 minutes to sear the chipolatas. Reduce heat to moderate and cook for a further 4 minutes. Turn occasionally. After cooking: Check food is piping hot throughout and the juices run clear. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only. To pan fry High/Moderate heat 8 mins

Defrost thoroughly and use within 24 hours. Do not refreeze once defrosted.
For best quality, freeze as soon as possible after purchase and always within the use by date. Once frozen consume within 2 months. Once defrosted use the same day.
