Sweet or Salty Popcorn
Recipe suggestion
Serves: approx. 3
100g Popping Corn
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
3 tbsp caster sugar & a pinch of salt OR 2 tsp salt
1. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large saucepan. Add 100g of popping corn kernels and cover with a well-fitting lid. Shake the pan to coat the kernels in the oil. Shake until the popping stops.
2. Tumble the popcorn into a large bowl, sprinkle 3 tbsp caster sugar and pinch of salt for sweet OR 2 tsp salt for salty, over the corn. Immediately stir to coat the sugar over the popcorn. Stand for 1 minute.
Cooking instructions: Hob
To cook on the hob. Before cooking: Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large saucepan. Add 100g of popping corn kernels and cover with a well-fitting lid. Shake the pan to coat the kernels in the oil. During cooking: Shake until the popping stops. After cooking: Check food is piping hot. Leave to stand for 30 seconds. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
